There are many ways to approach your job search, but here are our recommendations. If you want to find hospital jobs for nurses, the most obvious thing to do is start online.

The easiest way to find jobs is through job boards. The largest nursing job boards are nurse.com,  healthecareers.com, and nurserecruiter.com. However, with the rise of the internet, there are smarter ways to search than by looking at each job board one-by-one. To start, you can find most if not all hospital jobs for nurses that are posted on job aggregator sites like Indeed.com and SimplyHired.com. On Indeed jobseekers can set up job email alerts and let the site do the searching for them. If you open an account, the site will store your resume, so you can quickly apply from any device.

If you are active on social media, you can also find jobs through Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. On Twitter, you can search popular hashtags like #nursejob or #nursingjobs to quickly pull up a list of tweets that use that hashtag. Many of the large health systems have a dedicated Twitter account just for job search, like Tenet Healthcare’s @TenetCareers. On LinkedIn, make sure your profile is complete before you start searching so you can use it to easily apply to any job you find using their job search tools. But be careful, with social media its always important to check your privacy settings and make sure you are not revealing anything you wouldn’t want a potential employer to see. It might even be a good idea to maintain separate accounts for public and more personal viewing if you are really concerned about your privacy.

Nurses can also work with a recruiter to find a new job. Recruiters provide new nursing graduates valuable job search advice and can even consult you on compensation trends, resume writing, negotiating an employment contract and finding opportunities that may not be advertised yet.
